Collaboration case study: Building trust, reciprocity, and interdependency between RBK and Van Oers

RBK and Van Oers met in Breda in the Netherlands to discuss how they could strengthen and support one another more closely.
After initially sharing their strategy and learnings over a couple of Zoom call meetings, Van Oers invited RBK from Ireland to the Netherlands to see first-hand how they operated. RBK wanted to learn more about Van Oers’ strategy, operations and governance structures, to explore their service offerings and share experiences.
Each firm gave strategy presentations, which were followed by discussions and insights and then a deeper dive into specific service lines. “We learned a huge amount about the services and structures of Van Oers,” says Colm O’Grady, from RBK. “We also experienced a very vibrant and impressive people culture. All the team members we met were generous in the giving of their time and expertise, and open to discuss and compare. Plus, we were able to enjoy the lovely Breda city.”
A lot has happened since the visit. The two firms have continued to share ideas and material on topics such as tax, HR, and audit. O’Grady presented key findings and learnings from the visit to RBK’s Board and will present a review of their governance and organisation structure and benchmarking to all RBK partners.
Both members champion each other’s openness, management, collegial attitudes, enthusiasm and commitment to the LEA Global community and values. Christiaan Cornet, from Van Oers, adds: “We learned from them, and we hope they learned from us. We see this as an example of a ‘further together’.”
