On 12 August a team of 40 colleagues from Prosperity’s Sydney and Newcastle offices took part in the iconic City2Surf, with the aim of raising funds for their 2018 charity of choice, The Starlight Foundation Australia. This is the fifth year running that team Prosperity have participated in the event.
The Sun-Herald City2Surf is a popular road running, ‘bucket list’ event held annually in Sydney covering a 14km (8.6 mile) course and has been taking place now for 48 years. When the event kicked off in 1970 there were just over 1,500 entrants (and only 30 of these were females!). Today the event attracts more than 80,000 entrants and is both a ‘fun run’ as well as a race; it is truly a community event attracting entrants from all walks of life and all ages.
Starting from Hyde Park in Sydney’s CBD, the course snakes through Kings Cross and Rose Bay, pushes runners to their limits with the notorious ‘Heartbreak Hill’ at the midpoint, and ends at the world famous and spectacular Bondi Beach.
We are very proud of our Prosperity team and their families who have so far this calendar year raised $5,500 for The Starlight Foundation through pledges and sponsorship. Starlight’s mission is to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families, and helps sick kids forget their illness and rediscover the joys of childhood.
We are proud to support wellbeing initiatives and strongly believe that health and community are strongly linked to personal satisfaction and work life balance.
