We are excited to announce that Keiter Partner and COO, Julie Gustavsson, was recognized by her peers as one of the 2018 Most Powerful Women in Accounting by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and CPA Practice Advisors at the AICPA Engage 2018 event.The Most Powerful Women in Accounting recognition honors women who make an incredible impact on the public accounting profession as a whole and on small practitioners alike. The AICPA partnered with CPA Practice Advisor to select and present the awards, recognizing recipients for their contributions to the public accounting profession. These professionals are directly involved in day-to-day client service as a partner or senior member of an accounting practice, or impact the profession through their roles in consulting, technology, organizational leadership, education or other fields. Julie began her career after college as an auditor with the Auditor of Public Accounts (APA), as the state auditor for the Commonwealth of Virginia. She has over ten years of IT experience that includes auditing, consulting, corporate support, and project management. Prior to becoming COO, Julie managed the Information Technology and workflow departments. While in these roles, she improved business processes by tailoring and implementing effective and efficient technical solutions, such as facilitating a paperless environment that delivers quality end-products to clients. As COO, Julie is responsible for the day-to-day operations, as well as overseeing the development, planning and execution of the Firm’s strategic plan and vision. She also manages the Firm’s information technology, recruiting, marketing, training, and back office operations.
